These are not all nesting holes one is definitely food storage.
Second year I've watched the nesting/mating process. Shes sitting with the egg now.

Oh dear. That tree looks like it has coconut weevil. They creep in through woodpecker holes you know.

If they dont get eaten first.
as you know we have lots of rhinoceros beetle.

Ah yes those things with the huge orange larvae that crash into lights at night lol.

How absolutely BEAUTIFUL!!!
***is jealous....:)***

thank you
I'm going to watch this nesting couple for a while and see if i can get more interesting shots of the hatching.

Thanks for great pictures! I like your birds very much. You know last time I am living in Uganda and it is Africa’s most rewarding ornithological destination.

Giraffes have fun there as well.

Желаю Вам хороших выходных,побольше улыбок,радости и смеха!

Большое спасибо!

Замечательное фото! :)

Спасибо, рад что понравилось.:))

This is the female and I'm sure what your seeing is her alertness to defend any threat to her egg.The male has a bigger red area on top of his head and a bigger red mustache ;-)
